Syllabus for Reserve Bank of India
RBI sets the RBI Grade B Exam Syllabus for the exam. There are two MCQ tests conducted for RBI Grade B Exam, Paper I and Paper II. Syllabus is different for both the exam. RBI exam syllabus for the preliminary and main exam are listed below:
Preliminary exam: RBI GRADE B exam 2019 syllabus for Paper 1 (prelims) includes:
- Section A: General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analogy, Numerical Series, Syllogism, Direction/Ranking, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Miscellaneous
- Section B: General awareness: Culture, Indian History, Geography, Environment, Economy, Political science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Space Science, Computer, Mobile, and Technology
- Section C: English Comprehension: English Language, Vocabulary, Grammar, Reading Comprehension
Main exam: RBI GRADE B 2019 syllabus for Paper 2 (main) includes:
English Language: Error-spotting, Filling the blanks, Synonyms and Antonyms, Spelling check/ Detection of misspelled words, Idioms & Phrases, One-word Substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/ passive voice of verbs, Conversion into the direct/ indirect narration, Shuffling of sentence parts, shuffling of sentences in a passage, Cloze test & Comprehension.
Economic: Inflation, Poor educational standards, Poor Infrastructure, balance of Payment deterioration, High levels of private debt, Inequality has risen rather than decreased, Large Budget Deficit, Rigid labor Laws, Inefficient agriculture, Slowdown in growth, Finance & Management/Economics/Statistics.
Social Issues: Poverty, Illiteracy, Child Marriage, Child Labour, Casteism, Communalism, Regionalism, and Language Conflicts.
RBI Exam Pattern is different for Preliminary and Mains Examination. Candidates obtaining equal or more than the qualifying marks in the preliminary exam will be deemed eligible to write the main examination.
Preliminary 2019 Exam Pattern
Prelims exam for RBI Grade B will comprise of 200 questions in total. Questions asked will be objective in nature and multiple-choice type. Candidates will have 2 hours to finish this exam. Questions will be asked from the following disciplines:
- English Language
- Quantitative Aptitude
Mains 2019 Exam Pattern
Questions asked in the Mains exam will be provided with multiple choices (MCQ). There will be a subjective-type answer section as well. Mains exam will be conducted only for the candidates who qualify for the preliminary exam.
Stage-II will be conducted from December 1, 2019 onwards. Stage-II will have 3 papers namely:
Paper-I (Objective Type): It will be having questions from the relevant field of the job profile.
Paper-II (Descriptive): Question paper will be displayed on the computer, but the answers are to be written on the paper. This section will also have questions related to the relevant field of expertise.
Paper-III (English Descriptive): Candidate has to type the answers with the help of a keyboard.

RBI Grade B 2019 Paper Analysis
The RBI Grade B exam occurred on November 9, 2019. Students who took the exam felt the exam was of Easy-Moderate level of difficulty. It consists of 200 questions from the following topics: General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.
A total attempt of 120 is considered as a good number.

RBI Grade B 2019 Application Form had released on September 21, 2019. Candidates can fill RBI Grade B Application Form at the official website of RBI. All applications must be submitted online on the official website. There is no provision for offline application.
Applicants for posts in both Gr. B (DR)-General and Gr B (DR) DEPR / DSIM will be required to apply separately for each of these positions. Also, the application fees must be paid separately for the posts.
